Your gift can make a difference in someone's life...
Gifts of securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds are especially advantageous if you hold a security such as stock that has increased in value since you acquired it. By making a gift of stock held longer than one year, you avoid paying capital gains tax and you receive an income-tax deduction for the current market value of the gift. You may deduct gifts totaling up to 30% of your adjusted gross income in any year, with a five-year carry-over for any excess.
Matching Gifts
Do you want to maximize the impact of your gift? Your gift can be doubled or even tripled by your employer! Here are the 4 easy steps:
1. Find out if your employer will match your gift by searching the list of companies that have matching gift policies.
2. If your employer matches employee contributions, request a matching gift form, fill it out and send it to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter. You can send the matching gift form in with you donation or at any time thereafter.
3. We will complete our portion of the matching gift form and return it to your employer. The matching funds will be sent directly to us.
4. Watch your contribution and you employer's matching contribution go towards changing and rebuilding the lives of homeless men, women, and children.
